Chazara briseis (Linnaeus, 1764) - The Hermit.
A copulation of butterfles with a wing underside very cryptic on
stones which these steppen butterflies tend to sit on.
Range: N Africa, S Europe, Anterior and Central Asia, Kazakhstan, S Ural, the souhtern West Siberia, Altai Mts., Tuva
ssp.: magna (Ruhl, 1894); range: N Tien Shan, the Dzhungarian Alatau and Boro-Choro Mts.
A ditch in a steppe on the Dzhunke Plateau, the Northern Dzhungarian Alatau mountain chain, 1600 m altitude, 10 km SE of the village Kopal, Kopal District, Taldy-Kurgan Province, SE Kazakhstan. 4th August 1994. O. Kosterin.
Спаривание бабочек с криптической окраской низа задних крыльев, похожих
на поверхность камня на каковых эти степные бабочки и стремятся сидеть.
Ареал: С Африка, Ю Европа, Передняя и Средняя Азия, Казахстан, Ю Урал,
Ю Западная Сибирь, Алтай, Тува.
