Hipparchia autonoe (Esper, 1784).

A Satyrid in its arid environment. A male sitting on sand under a sparce canopy of open Ulmus pumila wood (this tree may grow in arid habitats) on the Onon River right bank. This is a steppen species and here in Dauria (steppen Transbailkalia) it inhabits the easternmost steppes in Siberia.

Range: the steppe and forest-steppe zones from the Volga to the Amur Rivers.
