Gentiana grandiflora Laxm. - a striking plant of montane tundras and apline meadows of Central Asia and Siberia, with a flower much larger than the plant as such.

A large-stoned scree on a sharp crest dividing the headwater cirques of the the Chikty Rivulet and a next eastward rivulet, 2800 m above sea level, the southern principal slope of the Yuzhno-Chuiskii mountain range, the upper Dzhazator River basin, Kosh-Agach District, Altai Republic, West Siberia, Russia. 10th July 1998.
