A male Rana arvalis Nilsson, 1842, Moor Frog, in its blue breeding-dress. This species spends in water only a reproductive period and lives mostly in forests. This and Rana amurensis Boul., 1886 (= R. cruenta Pall., 1814), also terrestrial species, are the only frogs ranging in Siberia.
